Humans Solve Problems Better in Groups
Specifically, high-trust groups that learn how to problem solve as one unit
According to Oxford physicist David Deutsch, a good explanation makes a narrow prediction, is hard to vary, and is testable.
Here is our narrow prediction, that is hard to vary, and we can test:
Humans solve problems better in high-trust groups.
There is an easy way to test this yourself. If you are trying to problem solve something in your life, try forming a group of high trust people and see if you don’t solve it better.
Or, let’s build a digital platform specifically deigned to help people problem solve better in groups, and we can help you solve your problems too, from a distance.
Look at the richest, most powerful people on Earth. They use the think tanks of K Street and the WEF to try and problem solve their agendas in groups. We should be doing the same while also using transparency like a sword and purpose as our shield.
It is often said that the most effective way to change the world is by first transforming the culture. Technology tends to evolve in response to cultural shifts. A notable historical example is the transition from the Wild West culture to a new ethos emphasizing "cleanliness is next to godliness" in the late 1800s. This cultural shift paved the way for arguably some of the best technological advancements of all time: sanitation, sewers, running water, and improved hygiene. If we want to fix the world, we need another culture change like this.
We would like to propose a shift in our epistemology as that cultural change.
The theory can be distilled into three simple sentences:
Everything is a problem.
All problems that do not defy the laws of physics are soluble.
Humans solve problems better in high-trust groups.
The desired cultural shift might be as straightforward as adopting the mantra: "Let's problem solve, together."
There is wisdom to be harnessed from crowds, and we can test it.

For over 3 billion years on this planet there were only single-celled organisms. Then one day they somehow learned to work together and make complex multi-celled creatures . Right now we are like those single-celled organisms. Our next evolution is finding how to work together, better… (like we wrote about here).

Most problems are created by design. My father went to school in a one-room schoolhouse. When he returned from WWII, he taught in that school for a number of years. He earned a masters degree in Education, ended up running a large school district, and from time to time, he'd mention everything about education worth knowing he learned while in a one-room school. I considered education and saw the beginning attempt at group learning and teaching in the 80's. The current education system needs a complete overhaul. What's left of collaborative learning isn't much compared to what was intended. Learning to work in a group, multi-age, multi-lingual, would be useful in the world today. We'd be geniuses at it if we had been taught that way.
A strong family unit proves this point. If you are blessed to be in one, you have more of a trusted team concept. Not surprising the destruction of this came first.
