How Can We Stop The Nothing?
I Ran Into This Beast in the Wild and Then This Happened.....
Sometimes I do a little photography as a way to connect with nature. Nature is the one place I uniquely feel the energy bigger than myself out there. Call it God. Call it the Universe. Call it consciousness. Call it all part of the same quantum field of probability. In nature exists an amazing reality too captivating to deny, yet so often overlooked by all of us. A life force. A tangible one. One available to all of our senses. One measurable by science. And yet one that goes undiscovered by most (including me for much of my life).
One day, while out on a nature photography hike, I was lucky enough to run into this giant beast coyote in a swamp not far from my home. He allowed me to stay close but after about 10 minutes he suddenly spoke.
He said to me, "People have begun to lose their hopes and forget their dreams. So THE NOTHING grows stronger."
I asked, "What is The Nothing?"
He responded, "It’s the emptiness that’s left. It’s like a despair, destroying this world. And I have been trying to help it."
I questioned, "But why?"
G’mork the Coyote snarled as I snapped this last photo and said, "Because people who have no hopes and dreams are easy to control. And whoever has control has the power."

One of my favorite photos I ever took is the first one, teeth showing looking viscous. But the truth is, it was yawning and I just caught it at a perfect moment. Before that it was frolicking in the grass. Rolling around. Looking magestical.
Perspective matters. So we should be aware of it. Especially when propagandic forces are using it against us on a mass scale.
Additional Fun Facts about coyotes (the last one will shock you, for real):
1) Coyotes mate for life and are monogamous. In a 2012 study of 18 litters of coyotes, researchers discovered that once they find love, a coyote couple is in it for the long haul and never cheat.
2) Their closest relative is the grey wolf and they can interbreed with both wolves and domestic dogs. The one I photographed here appeared to have a good amount of wolf in it.
3) Their range used to only be in the southwest and plains area of the continent. But as settlers moved west, extirpating large predators such as wolves, cougars and bears (that kept coyotes in check) and began cutting down forests into prairie-like farmland, the coyote found its opening to spread into new territory. The species has now spread to nearly every corner of North America and into Central America.
4) When you kill a coyote you aid in their spreading and population growth. At night they howl to do roll calls and if the numbers seem low females will go into heat, have bigger and more frequent litters, and then spread out over territories.
5) Despite their wide range in diet, they have never caught a Roadrunner. beep beep.
6) The last thing G’mork uttered to me was: The way to stop THE NOTHNG and change our world for the better is to fix the corruption in government. It needs to be line item #1. Imagine owning a hacked computer and arguing what program is going to run better on it. NO PROGRAM IS! Because until you fix the actual corruption of the system, nothing else matters. As always the entire purpose of this is to connect with other solutions-minded people like yourself! For 4 billion years on this planet there were only single-celled organisms. Then one day they somehow learned to work together and make complex multi-celled creatures like you and me. Right now we are like those single-celled organisms. Our next evolution is finding how to work together, better.
