For sure trust is a secret ingredient when creating genies. There are two kinds of trust. Trust in the systems we use, based on transparency, results, and the ability of the people inside the system to help it error correct. And then there is trust between people - the nodes of the genie. That can be built only with peer to peer vulnerability, and reciprocal efforts.
