Why Doesn't A Decentralized Safe Haven for Whistleblowers Exist?
As we learned from Julian Assange, Edward Snowden, and many others - whistleblowers are the enemy of both the state and the corporate press. Citizens who risk their livelihoods, freedom, citizenship, and lives to expose corruption should be some of the highest honored people by our culture. But instead they are attacked, vilified, smeared, and even arrested.
So what can we do better to protect them?
For one, why isn’t there a decentralized system that exists? Something on-chain? Something transparent? It is an absolute travesty that there is no safe place for honest citizens to turn to if they have information about corruption. Evidence should have a place to be turned over that exists outside the corrupt scope of law enforcement and corporate journalism. That evidence could exist as-is and be vetted by everyone - not just the corrupt pillars of centralized institutions. Sure, it would be ideal if the honest law enforcement agencies that still exist to also help prosecute here, but given how law enforcement has handled Jeffery Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, Wikileaks, the corruption inside our three letter agencies, political stock trades, and even voting, it is time we come up with a better way.
As we wrote about here, we suggest forming a decentralized News Network 100% controled by the people - that holds all of the government and corporations accountable. This branch wouldn’t be part of government or Wall Street at all, but rather more like a union of citizens that uses technology to join us together. It would be an easy way to unify citizens across political spectrums with one purpose - to ruthlessly stamp out corruption. We need a way to get a seat at the bargaining table once again.
”But what would stop this new branch from also becoming corrupted?” is the most common pushback we receive. The same thing that stops all systems from being corrupted - decentralization, radical transparency, and a change in culture back to one that demands justice.
Let’s make our first step to ending corruption to build a safe have for whistleblowers.

For over 3 billion years on this planet there were only single-celled organisms. Then one day they somehow learned to work together and make complex multi-celled creatures . Right now we are like those single-celled organisms. Our next evolution is finding how to work together, better… (like we wrote about here).

This is how we change the world. We build genies - systems of people like this:

This is a great idea and vastly needed. The fact that whistle blowers are not safe, plainly ignored or worse is a prime example of the corrupt and criminal system we are living in.
We are all the news now and although we do not have a network where we can protect whistle blowers we are certainly gaining the reach to bring it to the people.
Let's not give up, question every lie, post every truth.
