Thanks for this reminder as this is a lasting struggle not yet won! There are many attempts to separate us from understanding we are one people. We are the People! I read polling results in that 78% of the people in this country don't vote! That is an awful lot of people! If we get just 10% of these people (our neighbors) to stand alongside us we can change the way we are being kept from unity. More and more people mean less control.
Anybody who thinks we’re NOT being “told to tribalize against our neighbors” should contrast exploiters of difference with the ancient advice to “Love your neighbor.” Those who refuse to love are self-destructive and against me. I’d rather they love, but I’ll settle for their self-destruction if we can hold out long enough.
Yes. MLK has been ruined by Wokeism. Sad. He’s frequently taken out of context.
Ditto James Baldwin:
“It was necessary to hold on to the thing that mattered. The dead man mattered. The new life mattered. Blackness and whiteness did not matter. To believe that they did was to acquiesce in one’s own destruction. Hatred, which could destroy so much, never failed to destroy the man who hated. And this was an immutable law. It began to seem that one would have to hold in the mind forever two ideas which seemed to be in opposition. The first idea was acceptance, the acceptance, totally without rancor, of life as it is, and men as they are: in the light of this idea, it goes without saying that injustice is a commonplace. But this did not mean that one could be complacent, for the second idea was of equal power: that one must never, in one's own life, accept these injustices as commonplace but must fight them with all one's strength. This fight begins, however, in the heart and it now had been laid to my charge to keep my own heart free of hatred and despair.” (Notes of a Native Son.)
Groups should not be able to demand special treatment under the law based on the past. Also, lifestyle choices should not be afforded special protection under the law. Equal protection, not social engineering.

Amen to that!
